Why does my Wii stop to retrieve streaming video from Netflix so often?

Wii Netflix streaming video retrieving
In regards to my Internet service, I get it thru my cable provider so the up-/download speeds are enormous (and should be an issue).

I had a problem like that, when i upgraded to an internet connection with a higher download speed it went away.

Whats your up load and download speeds? If you have lower end ones i would bet that’s the problem.

Netflix Wii video streaming quality problem?

Hi all,

I recently got the netflix channel for the wii and it works fine however I’m not really satisfied with the video quality (I know the wii is not HD but I know the netflix for wii is capable of having DVD quality which is still pretty good).

The problem is that when I’m watching any video (doesn’t matter which) it will be muddy/blurry for a few minutes, then clear for a few minutes and the cycle basically repeats. I found out that when the video is clear my wii is streaming at about 1.0 – 1.8 Mbps and when its blurry/muddy it’s streaming at a measly 0.6 – 0.8 Mbps. What gives? I mean my laptop is in the same network and it functions MUCH faster like 5.0Mbps faster than the wii. I really don’t know why this is. Is this the wii being not capable of going faster than 2Mbps or is it netflix? My router is fine because like I said, my laptops run super fast on it wirelessly and they are FARTHER away from the router than my wii. Any input on this? thanks a lot!

Cheers,

All i can say is increase the buffer size. Try using channel 11 (on your router). I have a mifi 2200. Its not the fastest out there but i only get the buffereing in the first few minutes of a show and then thats it. Oh. Also when i do netflix video through my wii. I disconnect the laptop from the mifi.

Homebrew wii application for streaming video from USB drive?

That’s basically it. I wanna be able to stream my tv shows and movies I have on my external hard drive through my wii. Is it possible?

admin answers:

You need a wii running the Homebrew Channel (Hacked), and then you’ll need WiiMC. By plugging your USB into the back of the Wii, I believe on the closest port to the edge, you can watch your videos on Your Wii.

How can I watch live streaming video on my PC to my WII using Orb?

I have a Windows XP PC with tons of Videos and Audios. I have Orb installed and from my WII connected to my TV I can access all of the videos and audio media from my PC through my Orb account.

There are occasions where I watch streaming video from the web on my PC. I am wondering is it possible to watch such live media through the Orb on my Wii/TV?

Thanks,
Praveen.

Why can’t i watch streaming video on wii internet browser??

I can watch youtube videos but when i go on another site that has streaming video it doesn’t work. Whats up with that?

admin answers:

It will only work on videos that require Flash Player such as Youtube. Other sites that require Java won’t work.
